Do I need an IP Phone to use Girawa Services ?
Girawa is a unique calling card system. It can be used just like any other calling card, in addition IP phones can also be used. This page describes how various IP phones be used with girawa calling cards. IP phone can be used from anywhere in the world. Girawa USD, CAD, GBP or AUD account is needed to get started.
Cisco IP adapter
We will set this up for you free of charge, just call us when you are ready with the adapter.
Using Skype
- Serach for contact "VOBB Technologies" or "girawa" and add to your contacts
- Dial "VoBB Technologies"
- You are asked for Girawa PIN number, so enter the PIN and #
- You are asked to enter the phone number, enter starting with country code, ie starting from 94 for Sri lanka
- Enjoy your call
No matter which country you live in, this method will work, however you need a US girawa account.
Using Xlite Softphone
Download the premier free softphone Xlite from here.
- Install Xlite
- Open Xlite ( Double Click Xlite icon on your desktop)
- Configure Xlite as follows ( use down arrow key to select the SIP accounts menu)
Giraawa Home Phone account is needed
Display Name : Fill in your name here
User Name : [provided with your home-phone account]
Password : [provided with your home-phone account]
Domain : [provided with your home-phone account]
tick the ″register with domain and receive incoming calls″ box
- Now dial the number in the country beginning from the country code ( For Sri Lanka, Colombo Dial 94112xxxxxx )
- To dial another Girawa Phone, prefix girawa number with 555, like 555+Girawa Number
- To dial Girawa Phone from access number, dial access number and then prefix girawa number with 555, like 555+Girawa Number
Note : If this does not work, then select sip account settings and click topology tab, then select "Use specified server" ( under STUN server) and type in stun.counterpath.net
